PFAS: Effectively Managing PFAS Contamination to Meet New Regulatory Limits
Stream B: Effectively Managing PFAS Contamination to Meet New Regulatory Limits
In December 2023 the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its second PFAS Strategic Roadmap Progress report relating to new requirements for assessing and managing the risk of contamination from PFOA and PFOS.
In 2024 a new National Primary Drinking Water Regulation is expected, establishing Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) - both legally enforceable and health-based levels of individual PFAs contaminants in water.
This session will provide an update on the latest PFAS regulatory developments in North America including EPA guidance and changes to CERCLA, as well as examples of state activity on PFAS.
It will discuss the implications of the new MCLs for the characterization and risk assessment of water resources, including data collection and analytical testing.
