Bin is a Research Associate Professor at Northwestern University. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Arizona State University, focusing on 2D material defects. He completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Toronto, exploring perovskites, quantum dots, and optoelectronic devices. His current research centers around defect control in emerging materials. Bin has authored 19 first or corresponding-author papers in high-impact journals, including Science (3), Nature (1), Nature Energy (2), and Nature Photonics (1), among over 120 total publications (≥19,000+ citations; h-index of 64). He was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate and featured in Stanford/Elsevier’s list of top 2% scientists worldwide.
