Hilary Eastman

Hilary leads KPMG UK’s ESG reporting practice, advising multinational clients on the implementation of sustainability reporting, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. She is a member of the UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which provides endorsement recommendations to the UK Government for the adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards in the UK. She is a member of KPMG’s global team that develops the firm’s technical interpretations of reporting regulations (including European and international sustainability standards) and responds to proposals for new regulatory requirements.

Previously, she led PwC’s global investor engagement programme, where she was responsible for understanding investor views on corporate reporting and assurance and advising large corporates on how to better communicate to the capital markets. She also previously was on the staff of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), where she led the project to develop IFRS 13, Fair Value Measurement, and developed and led the Board’s investor liaison programme.  

She is chair of the Board of the CFA Society of the UK and a member of ICAS’s Research Panel, providing a practitioner (investor and corporate) perspective on academic research about a broad range of corporate reporting and assurance topics.  

She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has a master’s degree in finance from San Diego State University in the US.
