Jon Gibbard
Jon is the owner and Director of Empowered2 a consultancy supporting individuals and organisations to help people be empowered to achieve their full potential, particularly in the environmental consulting sector. Jon started the organisation in July 24 after running the leadership development activity at Ricardo Energy & Environment from 2018-2024 alongside his role as Global Practice Director. Jon previously led a team of ~200 people, including ~25 salespeople, and P&L of ~£23m growing consultancy services by double digit profit and revenue.
Jon played a key part in helping Ricardo make substantial progress on its DEI and GPG agenda after joining the leadership team in 2013. To support the team Jon was responsible for he grew a diverse team of leaders investing heavily in coaching and leadership development in often unrecognized staff members who possessed excellent underlying people leadership capability. Jon is passionate about hidden disabilities, himself having type 1 diabetes. Jon’s LinkedIn page highlights recommendations that speak specifically to Jon’s leadership style and the programmes he facilitated. Jon is also a Non-Executive Director of Harwich Haven Authority where he sits on the SHEQ and chairs the Investment committee.
Today Jon’s work with clients focuses on three main areas of challenge faced by many organisations,
1. High performance tools – to help everyone perform at their best, particularly supporting prioritisation, key skills like delegation and coaching and how to create positive powerful mindsets
2. Leadership skills and behaviours – helping us create and enable high performing teams, increase engagement and reduce staff turnover
3. Client centricity – how to win, protect and grow clients to create a sustainable pipeline and embed a client centric culture in your organisations. From sales process, to key client management to relationship building.
