Dr Rahmat Poudineh is Head of Electricity Research Programme at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), where he leads a multidisciplinary programme on the transition to low‑carbon, technology‑driven power systems. His work spans market design, regulation and investment, with recent papers on Contracts for Difference, electricity demand and the economics of renewable energy. Rahmat advises governments, corporations and multilateral organisations on policy frameworks that accelerate electrification and integrate low carbon technologies into modern grids. As a frequent speaker, he combines academic rigour with practical insight and holds a PhD in Energy Economics.
