Rosa Gwinn
Vice President, Global PFAS Technical Lead,
AECOM
With over 30 years at AECOM and legacy companies, Dr. Gwinn's primary technical focus has been the characterization and remediation of emerging environmental contaminants: chlorinated solvents, munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), munitions constituents (MC), chemical warfare materiel (CWM), and, most recently, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
As a technical practitioner, she applies statistics to environmental questions relating to risk, distribution, and trends. With a foundation in solving thorny remediation issues, she recognized the need to focus AECOM's creative strength on addressing PFAS in drinking water, wastewater, and the environment. In her role, she interfaces with clients, academic partners, trade associations, and government agencies in anticipating and influencing PFAS regulations as they continually evolve. AECOM developed a first-of-its-kind PFAS sampling training, and continues to update it with best practices. AECOM's Global PFAS team is commercializing leading-edge destructive treatment technology for PFAS known as DE-FLUORO™
