
Tom Gray
Tom recently joined the BBC as Group Nature Lead, bringing over 15 years’ experience as a technical biodiversity specialist to the media organisation, with expertise in biodiversity policy and strategy development, nature-integrated architecture, ecosystem regeneration, and the music of Nine Inch Nails. Prior to his current role, he worked as an independent advisor to businesses on biodiversity risks/opportunities, and spent 11 years at Arup. His work has included major infrastructure and buildings projects, city design and urban regeneration, and local/national planning policy development; always seeking to deliver inclusive projects that protect and regenerate ecosystems at all scales, and benefit society through ensuring equitable access to nature.
Tom is a Chartered Environmentalist through the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, and is a member of the UK Design Council Expert Panel for his recognised experienced in integrated ecological design.
