Doug is the Director of Remediation at BASF Corporation, where he is focused on integrating regenerative design into site redeployment. He has worked in environmental remediation for over 30 years. He has a Masters degree in Geology and is an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University. Doug has also worked with the United Nations on sustainable development of urban environments and lead the UN Habitat restoration of Galle, Sri Lanka after the 2005 tsunami. He is a leader in the use of sustainable development principles in remediation. His initiatives have led to development of award-winning wildlife habitat and ecologically educational programs. Most recently, he has been using the concepts of sustainable development to improve the efficiency of environmental, social, and economic recovery of urban river restoration.
