Kristin Urbach is an award-winning visionary and the Executive Director of the Connecticut Wind Collaborative, where she leads the charge in advancing the State’s offshore wind industry. Appointed by Governor Lamont, she also serves on the Connecticut Port Authority Board. With a career span of over two decades, Kristin has a proven record in driving strategic growth, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and developing innovative programs. Before her leadership role in Connecticut, she held executive positions in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors in Washington, D.C. She later served as Executive Director of the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, where she launched WindWinRI, an offshore wind career pathway training program in Rhode Island. This initiative earned national recognition from Fast Company as a “World Changing Idea.” In 2023, Kristin became the first Rhode Islander selected as a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Business Leads Fellow, joining a cohort of thirty-four nationwide leaders. Kristin is a recognized thought leader in renewable energy and a sought-after speaker at national and international forums. She has been featured as a panelist and keynote speaker at prominent events, including the Global Transmission Report’s 8th Annual Offshore Wind Transmission US Conference, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s Annual Energy Leaders Conference, the Business Network for Offshore Wind’s International Partnering Forum, and various global leadership roundtables.
